A Holiday Fiesta Returns to Scottsdale

The annual "Fiesta Bowl ArtWalk" will once again liven up the streets of the Scottsdale Arts District on Sat., Dec. 29, 2007 from noon to 5pm. Hosted by the Scottsdale Gallery Association (SGA) in conjunction with the City of Scottsdale, this year's Fiesta Bowl ArtWalk promises lots of warm Arizona-style hospitality and artistry from Main Street to Marshall Way and throughout downtown Scottsdale.

Dozens of the Southwest's greatest art galleries will be open to the public as they host receptions featuring premiere artists from all over the U.S. World-class artwork of all styles will be showcased in a variety of media.

Live music, free food samples, awesome prize giveaways and other special doings will also be found along the ArtWalk route in celebration of the annual Tostitos Fiesta Bowl Football Classic.

You can find the Scottsdale Arts District along Main Street and Marshall Way, just west of Scottsdale Rd., north and south of Indian School Rd. There are plenty of nearby free parking areas, and easy access to local hotels or famed Scottsdale eateries.

A calendar of individual gallery events is available via the Scottsdale Arts District website at www.scottsdalegalleries.com. Call the ArtWalk Hotline at 480-990-3939 for directions.

What’sHappening

Fall Festival
Features Phoenix Favorites

The 3rd Annual Certified Local Fall Festival, presented by Local First Arizona / Arizona Chain Reaction and sponsored by First National Bank of Arizona. Mark your calendars for Saturday, November 10 from 10am-4pm at Duck and Decanter on 16th Street and Camelback.

This year’s festival boasts great local music from Bisbee’s own Nowhere Man and a Whiskey Girl. The Chicago style blues of Loose Cannons Blues Band will provide an eclectic musical backdrop for the event, along with Mikel Lander, Thankful Birds and Sonny AZ.

In addition to the eclectic and phenomenal music line-up, a number of supportive nonprofits will also be participating. From ShowUp.com to Body Positive and the Gay and Lesbian Chamber of Commerce, everyone seems to be turning out.

And if that’s still not enough to wet the palate, the festival’s Desert Living Beer and Wine Garden will host Terroir Wine Pub, Duck and Decanter and Four Peaks Brewery, pouring the best of the best all day.

This year, Local First Arizona anticipates more than 3,000 festival-goers. Last year, Spinato's Pizza went through 1,400 slices of pizza. 500 promotional "Goodie Bags" will go to the first guests to arrive. There’s fun for everyone with a kids' jumping castle, friendly reptile visitors from the Phoenix Zoo, an exciting raffle and live local music.
